Wow - 7?! Yep, the boys had a big birthday this past weekend. You know how some numbers seem "bigger" than others as far as birthdays go? Well, 7 is one of those "bigger" numbers to me when it comes to our kids. I don't know why - it just seems much older than 6.
So what did the boys do for their 7th birthday? Well, Kurt and I decided this was the year to begin the "friends party" birthday celebration. Up until now, we'd just done mostly family get togethers, but with the boys in school and having been invited to a few friend's parties already, we thought it was time. And they were ecstatic!! We opted to invite a few friends (versus ALL the boys in their grade, as others had done), so they each got to pick four boys. We had a bowling party here in town, and the bowling alley provided the game and dinner. Then we brought the cake, gifts, etc. along with us. It worked out pretty well! (.... despite having to control that many kids!) The boys had a good time, and of course, they loved getting more gifts. :) And the timing was good - one final celebration to end the summer and kick-off the school year!
Sadly, I don't have any great pictures to share of the party. I did get a bunch of videotape, though - just not too many good pictures from the digital camera. To see updated pics of the kids, read the next post. :)
