I was reading over Nate's homework this afternoon. He is learning how to write interesting/strong story leads. So here are the examples he wrote (italics mine):
* Have you ever seen a hamster so cute, but then it bit you?
* This story is about the greatest parade ever to get blown up.
* Have you ever packed up to go on vacation and then have a giant attack you?
* My report is about black cats that spit poison.
Hmmmm. I'm guessing this is just typical of a 10-year old boy. But it's still a bit disturbing, nonetheless.

Yes...normal. If you go to my blog and read some of the "disturbing" literature that Evan has written for school. Yikes! And I asked myself the same thing---"is this normal?"
